Urbanism Lecture Series: Architecture and The Great Derangement

(29-02-2024)

You are warmly invited to the urbanism lecture series ‘Architecture and the Great Derangement’ running this academic year. For this series, we took a provocation Amitav Ghosh as a starting point to ask invited speakers to position their work in the light of climate change, resource extraction and financialization. Ghosh highlighted the complicity of Western critical thought in rendering climate change unthinkable. In turn, the speakers of this series will open a debate on how to imagine urban and architectural forms of non-exploitation, non-speculation and non-extraction.
