FEB mission and strategy

Our mission

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration is a collegiate student-centric school, that dares to think today about the challenges of tomorrow, welcoming all students to participate in high quality, research-based study programs and conducting rigorous multi-perspective scientific research, starting from relevant real-life business problems and societal challenges.

Our strategy

To achieve our mission, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEB) developed a strategy that defines the Faculty's focus for the coming years. FEB's strategy is built on connection and shared progress: connecting expertise, collaborating in a transparent matter, and making an interdisciplinary impact in education and research. Therefore, we use the following slogan:

Connecting minds, advancing together

Strategic compass

A clear set of guiding principles have been created that act as a compass to guide decision-making and clarify the value we want to create for our stakeholders and society. These guiding principles are:

thrive

THRIVE

Students are supported in a welcoming environment and receive guidance by the student counsellors, well-being initiatives, and high-quality education.

The well-being of staff is also crucial, because FEB staff can only fully support students when they feel comfortable in their own skin.

This way, we aim to ensure that high-quality education at FEB flourishes.

Dare to think

DARE TO THINK

FEB is committed in creating groundbreaking research that is critical and socially relevant, with an eye for multi-perspective thinking, impact, and challenging fake news.

Students are developed into critical thinkers.

Besides academic impact—which we demonstrate through numerous publications—societal impact is now also a superpower of the faculty.

inter-act

INTER-ACT

Collaboration and interaction with students, alumni, external stakeholders, and partner universities are essential.

Alumni contribute to study programs, and companies offer chairs and internships.

Lifelong learning maintains a strong connection with society.

Our strategic priorities

Four strategic priorities have been defined based on the three guiding principles:

  • Provide high-quality study programs that cultivate a critical mindset, open-mindedness, and a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives.

  • Do excellent research which is continuously and extensively disseminated to students, practitioners, and society at large.

  • Build a strong national and international Faculty ecosystem to enrich education, research and societal engagement.

  • Invest in a supportive and collaborative organizational culture.

Next steps

The FEB strategy is still in development. We are currently gathering input from external stakeholders and employees regarding the four strategic priorities.

This input will be used to define detailed action points and further shape the strategic plan.
