Valeryia about her experience at the FEB

‘I studied Business Economics for three years in Poland (Warshaw). I enjoy people, I am a social person and I travel a lot to do social work and help animals. My ambition is to change this world into a better place. The change comes from within, from yourself. We need to change the system and tackle pollution, poverty and inequality.
I was looking for a good master programme in Europe. I chose for the faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Ghent University for practical reasons. I was looking for a one year programme with an acceptable price for the education and life costs in the country itself. I had a good connection with Belgians, it was easy to integrate for me. Everyone was very open in my eyes because I also come from a northern european country.
The education here was high-quality, but very demanding. I felt secure here and if I had a problem there was always someone to come to. The professors here are really smart people, they are extremely intelligent and love what they do. I have so much respect for your country and system of education. Belgium knows how to teach and is one of the most developed countries in the world.
During my studies I did not go out that much. I didn’t do a lot of student activities. Instead I opened my mind to think differently. Some people opened my eyes, made me think in another way and made me more tolerant. I understand that no-one is perfect and we should love each other anyway.
I would definitely recommend other people to study here for all the reasons mentioned above but as well for the city of Ghent. It is a great destination for personal development, there is something unique about it.’
