History of the collection L37

The Literary Sociology Collection originated in the late 1970s with the establishment of a new chair under Raymond Vervliet. In the late 1980s, Professor Vervliet was given the chair of Comparative Literature Studies. The library of Walter Thys was transferred to this chair.

There was sufficient budget for the further expansion of the collection, with the selection of new works taking place according to individual preferences.

In the autumn of 2011, the collection was transferred to the Faculty Library of Arts and Philosophy. Part of the collection was placed on depot (mainly less current titles).
