Chiara Pirisi
Intern at the research group for Media, Innovation and Communication Technologies, Department of Communication Sciences, Ghent University.
Chiara Pirisi is an intern researcher at imec-mict-Ugent and she is involved in the SolidLab project. She started her internship in Ghent in March 2024, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Program.
She is in her second and final year of a Master’s degree program in Analysis of Social Processes at the University of Milano-Bicocca. Chiara holds a Bachelor's degree in Political, Social and International Sciences from the University of Bologna, where she graduated with a thesis about universal basic income. Her main research interests include social inequalities, the knowledge society, individual wellbeing, and welfare systems.
During her internship, she is going to research the societal implications of Solid, investigating the issues of privacy self-management, datafication and surveillance capitalism, with both theoretical and empirical exploration.
