Introducing Romi Van Esbroeck, who is currently finalizing her master's degree in New Media & Society at the University of Ghent. Romi is undertaking a 9-week internship at imec-mict-UGent on the DISCONNECT project. With a keen interest in digital well-being and digital media use, she brings a fresh perspective and a passion for understanding the complexities of our relationship with technology and digital media.

 

As a member of the DISCONNECT project team, Romi's interdisciplinary interests contribute to the research surrounding digital well-being. She is actively involved in the On Off project, where she primarily focuses on communication objectives such as creating stakeholdercontent, writing and public speaking, and engaging in outreach activities to disseminate research findings effectively. Her adeptness in crafting compelling narratives and communicating complex ideas makes her an valuable asset to the team.

Furthermore, Romi extends her support to the SBO project. Within this project, her objectives are to manage participants, support research and data analysis, and facilitating communication with stakeholders.

She plays an integral role in advancing the goals of both projects, contributing to the collective efforts aimed at fostering a healthier relationship with technology and promoting digital well-being for individuals and society alike.
