Elodie Devos is a master Communication Sciences. From February through April 2024, Elodie gained her first research experience at imec‑mict‑UGent as a research intern, as part of her Master’s programme in Communication Sciences: New Media & Society. During this internship, she contributed to ongoing research on children and media (Apestaartjaren & Digimeter). 

After obtaining her Master’s degree at the end of 2024, Elodie joined imec‑mict‑UGent as a researcher and teaching-assistant. In her role, she explores how children interact with new and emerging technologies, with a particular focus on learning environments, youth digital practices, and questions of agency. Her research interests include Educational technologies, artificial intelligence, AI Companions. 

Across her work, Elodie is motivated by understanding how digital technologies can support, empower, or challenge users, especially children and young people, and how policymakers can foster agency within the implementation of digital technologies.
