Renke obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a minor in Neuropsychology at Ghent University in 2025. She subsequently started the Master’s programme in Theoretical and Experimental Psychology before commencing her PhD. Her master’s thesis examined transcranial magnetic stimulation of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, focusing on the role of this brain area in parasympathetic cardiac control, intrusive thoughts, and worry, under the supervision of Rudi De Raedt and Matias Pulopulos.

From 2023 to 2025, she volunteered as a researcher in the Neuropsychology Lab of the Department of Experimental-Clinical and Health Psychology, where she studied hemispheric lateralization of cognitive functions using transcranial Doppler sonography under the supervision of Emma Karlsson.

She is currently working on the PADRE project, focusing on the validation and exploration of adaptive systems in and beyond educational technology. Her PhD research examines how neurophysiological and behavioral measures, such as in-ear EEG and hand tracking, can be used to monitor users and adapt technology in real time to support learning and on-the-job performance in complex professional contexts. Her PhD is supervised by Klaas Bombeke, Jonas De Bruyne, and Lieven De Marez.
