Samuel Dossche obtained his Master’s degree in Theoretical and Experimental Psychology at Ghent University in 2025. For his Master’s thesis, he investigated the cognitive mechanisms of behavioral variability in competitive social interactions using Rescorla-Wagner modeling.

In 2025, he completed a research internship at imec-mict-Ugent. During this internship, he investigated the impact of anticipatory build-ups on fear and arousal in an adaptive VR horror game. This allowed him to gain experience in the collection and analysis of physiological data and how they can be used in adaptive systems.

In february 2026, Samuel started his PhD under the supervision of Prof. dr. Klaas Bombeke and Prof. dr. Lieven De Marez. Where he investigates how to design systems that adapt support to an operator in real time based on behavioural and physiological signals. His goal is to improve performance and training outcomes while keeping the interaction aligned with human factors.
