Wouter Devriese
R&D Engineer at imec - Department DSRD | Visiting Professor at the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Product Design, Ghent University
Wouter constantly explores the boundaries of technology and creativity. With genuine curiosity, he expanded his expertise from a master's in industrial sciences (electronics) to software innovations at imec. Years of experience have taught him to view problems from a user-centered perspective and to understand the role of technology within them.
At LUCA School of Arts, he explored the tensions between technology (AI & VR), art, and design.
Currently, at imec, he builds systems that help bring new technologies out of the lab and investigates what is both desirable and feasible.
As a visiting professor in the Department of Industrial Design, he teaches the course "Emerging Technologies," where he shares his broad passion and offers insight into future developments and how we can engage with them.
