Film screening and lecture on the representation of journalism in the movie 'The French Dispatch'

On September 21st, CJS-member Maxine De Wulf Helskens, together with CIMS-colleague Femke De Sutter, organized a film screen of the Wes Anderson movie 'The French Dispatch'. The screening, which took place at the Ghent movie theater Studio Skoop, was accompanied by a lecture on the representation of journalism in film. Specifically, the researchers combined their expertise in respectively journalism and ageism to discuss how age can create unique obstacles for journalists - especially women - both in film and in real newsrooms.
