Dr. Lise Janssens

Lise Janssens is part-time (60%) affiliated to the Centre for Sustainability Studies as a postdoctoral researcher and works on (research) projects related to sustainability education, co-creation and transformative learning.

She is also affiliated to the Centre of Environmental Sciences and the School of Educational studies of UHasselt as a postdoctoral researcher where she conducts similar projects. In April 2024 she defended her PhD entitled ‘Transformative learning for sustainability in business economics education: barriers and enablers’. Her professional career is driven by her passion for education, research for and about education for sustainability. In her research, she focuses on transformative learning for sustainability within economics education, co-creation for sustainability and education for sustainable development in general.

In addition, you can describe her as an ‘social enthusiastic busy bee’. She likes people, sport, parties and organising gatherings. She was involved for example in the organisation of the Higher Education Summit 2021 and 2022.
