Dr. Maarten Deleye
As a postdoctoral researcher, I am currently involved in the LESTRA-project funded by the European Research Council with professor Katrien Van Poeck as principal investigator. In this project, we investigate learning in sustainability transitions. Before this, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher for the European Educational Research Association for which I did a data mining analysis of the abstracts database of the European Conference on Educational Research. In 2024, I defended my PhD in curriculum studies (didaktik) at Uppsala University in Sweden. My doctoral research focused on how the sustainable university can be conceptualized in research and practice, and zoomed in on how higher education systems and practices change while integrating more attention for sustainability issues.
I have been affiliated with the Centre for Sustainability Studies since 2016 and also hold a Master in social and cultural educational sciences from the University of Leuven (Belgium), and a Bachelor in social work from Howest Bruges (Belgium). I am also a member of the international research collective TePlab - The Laboratory for Teaching Practices which is based in Uppsala University (Sweden).
