Meet the VEG-i-TEC researcher - Henri Verscheure

Henri is a scientific researcher on the Agro&Blauw project, where he studies water treatment and water reuse in the agri-food sector. His work contributes to developing innovative and sustainable solutions for one of today’s most urgent challenges: using water more wisely.

💧 Water: a valuable resource

Water use is under pressure. Droughts and shortages are increasing, while heavy rainfall leads to flooding and pollution. At the same time, water quality standards are becoming stricter, creating both challenges and opportunities for innovation in the agri-food sector.

Within Agro&Blauw, we are exploring a technique to remove phosphate from wastewater using an adsorbent. This method has already shown promising results, both in our pilot installations at VEG-i-TEC and in real-life applications with our agri-food partners.

Investing in water and climate solutions today is far more cost-effective than dealing with the consequences tomorrow.
