Lecture

Prof. dr. Filip Du Prez - Dept. Organic and Macromolecular Chemistry - Polymer Chemistry Research Group

Nowadays, everyone is well aware of the necessity for recyclable polymers, especially with the alarming reports on the 'plastic soup' in recent years. The ongoing debate usually focuses on 'single use plastics' that are mainly used for packaging. But what about the recycling of polymers that are used for high-grade applications such as the wings of wind turbines or car and airplane parts?

Up till now no practical solution existed for the latter. However, recent progress in the field of polymer chemistry now offers very exciting possibilities for a sustainable solution.

I'm looking forward to talk to and interact with you on this matter during this lecture.
