The Botanical Garden’s management is grateful for all support granted by its sponsors. Their help is indispensable both for the garden’s day to day operations and for the achievement of specific projects.

The Stichting Arboretum Wespelaar supports the botanic research in the Botanical Garden, especially the dendrology. The Stichting finances an expert on plant identification.

The Stichting Arboretum Wespelaar also supports the study of genetic diversity within ex situ collections and natural populations. Botanic Gardens Conservation International cooperates in this project.

The Provincie Oost-Vlaanderen (Province of East-Flanders) delegates two part-time gardeners to the Botanical Garden. These people are responsible for the perennials, shrubs and trees nurseries as well as for the maintenance of the systematic collections.
The City of Ghent also supports the Botanical Garden. Its Public Gardens department makes sure that pruning wood is shredded on a regular basis, thus providing us with a healthy compost.
