IMETE Summer Course 2016

Do you want to plunge yourself in 2 days of lectures on Management and Remediation of Contaminated Sediments, followed by a field visit to a company focused on sediment treatment?

If so, we would like to invite you to join the IMETE Summer Course 2016. This course will be held on 20-21-22 September 2016 in Ghent, Belgium. It will provide the participants with management and remediation solutions to contaminants in both freshwater and marine sediments. All aspects of sediment contamination will be reviewed, including site characterization and determination of contaminant sources, selection of remediation technologies, and monitoring the effectiveness of remedial technology, including its impact on the benthic environment.

Attendees will acquire the skills and knowledge to assess sediment contamination and provide scientifically valid and legally defensible solutions for contaminated sediments at minimum cost.

The lectures are given by Dr. Anna Sophia Knox, Principal Scientist at the Savannah River National Laboratory (US) and instructor at the Seattle-based Northwest Environmental Training Center (NWETC).

The course is open to both professionals, researchers and students (Master, PhD).
