Workshops

The library organises workshops on searching and finding scientific sources in databases, on citing correctly and the use of types of reference software like EndNote. We also work with the data stewards to help promote their workshops.

In the autumn of 2020, the library organised a series of workshops. You can find short descriptions and the recordings below.

Basic research skills

In the first workshop, we explore how you can search for and find scientific sources in databases. We focus on four databases: the library catalogue lib.ugent.be, Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar. We also address research integrity.

EndNote

EndNote is a type of reference software that enables you to import (gather) references, as well as edit, structure, and insert them into your papers. It makes citing correctly easier.

Mendeley

Mendeley is another type of reference software. It also enables you to import (gather) references, as well as edit, structure, and insert them into your papers. We conclude this last workshop with a comparison between Mendeley and EndNote.
