SynBioC focuses its research, educational and service activities on divers aspects of organic and bioorganic chemistry.
Research
The SynBioC Research Group is active in the broad field of organic synthesis with projects ranging from the synthesis of new bioactive compounds for applications in the Medicinal and the Agrochemical field, the isolation and study of Natural Products, the use and chemical modification of Renewable Resources, to the implementation of Green Chemistry, Microreactor Technology and Photo Chemistry.

SynBioC is headed by Prof Matthias D'hooghe in collaboration with Prof Christian Stevens, Prof Sven Mangelinckx and Prof Thomas Heugebaert and consists of about 60 members including scientific (post-doc researchers, PhD students and Master students), technical and administrative employees.
