Faculty Council
The faculty is governed by the Faculty Council, which is presided by the dean.
The Faculty Council:
- consists of the department chairs, elected representatives of professorial staff members, assistants, administrative staff members and students.
- is charged with the task of organising and coordinating the manner in which tuition is provided and the manner in which science is practised in the various disciplines of the faculty.
- is authorized to perform the following tasks:
- appointing the lecturers
- awarding a shorter study duration
- deciding which years are to be organised on a part-time basis
- advises the university board about:
- the establishment of education regulations and study programmes
- the organisation of continuing academic programmes
- the admission requirements for the academic second-cycle study programmes
- the organisation of certain entrance exams
- the establishment of vacancies for academic staff
- the appointment, temporary appointment and promotion of professors
