Carlos Fonseca Diaz

Credits: Hermine Van CoppenolleCarlos Fonseca Diaz is a PhD researcher at the Ghent Institute for International and European Studies and the United Nations University – Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS). His doctoral research examines interregional cybersecurity cooperation between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean, with a focus on regionalism and the intersection of digital, development, and security policies.

He holds a Master’s degree in Global Studies from the University of Salerno and an MA in European Interdisciplinary Studies from the College of Europe. Prior to starting his PhD, Carlos worked as a research assistant at the Internet and Communication Policy Center at the University of Salerno. He also interned at UNU-CRIS, contributing to the Re-LAB and Digital Governance clusters, with a focus on regionalism and internet governance.
