We are honored to invite you to the launch of our recently published book “The Right to a Healthy Environment in and beyond the Anthropocene: a European perspective” (Edward Elgar) in Ghent on 17 May 2024 (2.30-7.30PM).

In light of the recent recognition of the right to a healthy environment (R2HE) at UN level, this book looks at how this right can be operationalized in the Anthropocene, an era characterized by global warming, pollution and biodiversity loss.  The diverse contributions not only explore the theoretical and legal underpinnings of the R2HE, but also delve into its concrete application and enforcement in court. The book serves as a tribute to the rich career of Luc Lavrysen, Emeritus professor Environmental Law at Ghent University, who has dedicated his career to advocating for a better legal implementation of the R2HE.

You can subscribe to the book launch co-organized by Ugent and VVOR here and obtain a copy of the book here (apply code SCKS35 at checkout).
