Workshop
Aim
The Scientific Research Committee (CWO) supports the mobility of young researchers who need to attend a technical course or workshop which is essential for their research.
Who can apply?
- All ATP staff, predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers at the FBE.
Requirements
- You have to apply before your departure date.
- You must attempt to secure funding from FWO unless you do not meet their requirements. If you have received FWO funding, notify research.fbw@ugent.be, so we can cancel your application.
If you were too late to apply at FWO, your application for faculty mobility funding won't be accepted as it is possible to apply at FWO without an official acceptance of the abstract by the conference organizer. - The additional value of the workshop to the researcher must be justified in the application.
- The workshop should take at least two days
Grant
- A lump sum* for transport and registration expenses:
Within Belgium: 100 euro
Within Europe: 500 euro
Outside Europe: 1.000 euro
- During your predoctoral period, a maximum of 1.500 euro of conference and/or workshop expenses can be granted over several applications.
- During your postdoctoral period, a maximum of 1.500 euro of conference and/or workshop expenses can be granted over several applications.
- As ATP, max. 4 workshops can be granted by the CWO every 10 years.
*After approval for reimbursement the lump sum is transferred to your budget holder (ZAP). Your department will only reimburse the actually agreed expenses with you.

Documents to be submitted
The following documents have to be submitted in the application:
- A copy of the parallel application to the FWO unless you do not meet the formal requirements for FWO funding. (e.g., predoctoral researchers who do not yet have an international publication).
