Submission deadlines and defence dates

Upload a pdf version of your master's dissertation in the master's dissertation application. Instructions are sent by masterdissertation.fbw@ugent.be.
Add the required information regarding the report.
No need to send a digital copy to each member of your jury and your promotor(s). They have direct access to your report through the application.

Master's dissertations submitted beyond the due date for a given examination period, cannot be defended in that examination period anymore.

First term examination period (only for students who can graduate after the first semester)	Friday 16 January 2026 before 5 pm
Second term examination period	Friday 5 June 2026 before 5 pm
Resit examination period	Friday 21 August 2026 before 5 pm

In the last week of the examination period:

First term examination period	Thursday 29 January 2026 Friday 30 January 2026
Second term examination period	Wednesday 24 June 2026 Thursday 25 June 2026 Friday 26 June 2026
Resit examination period*	Monday 7 September 2026 Tuesday 8 September 2026

The detailed time schedules of the defences are announced on the master's dissertation application by the FSA after the deadline of submission.
