Orthopaedics and Traumatology Research Group

The Orthopaedics and Traumatology Research Group focuses its research on the treatment of abnormalities and diseases of the support and locomotor apparatus. These abnormalities may be congenital, but may also arise later due to, for example, an accident, overload or wear. The research group focuses on fundamental, translational and clinical research.

Since its establishment in 1906, the Orthopaedics and Traumatology department (University Hospital Ghent) has developed a strong reputation in scientific research and has helped shape the future of medical science.
