Enrolment with a diploma of the French or German Community (Belgium)

Enrol for a bachelor

Your diploma of secondary education of the French or German Community of Belgium gives direct admission to a bachelor programme; however there are language requirements. All bachelor programmes for which you can enrol at UGent are instructed in Dutch.

  1. First do your enrolment application
  2. Then do your final enrolment during the enrolment period.

Enrol for a master

You have to meet the admission requirements for a master programme.

Diplomas of the French or German Community of Belgium are not included in the standard list of admission requirements. This means that you will have to ask the faculty for permission before enrolment.

Master programmes are instructed in Dutch or English. You will have to fulfil the language requirements.

Depending on your diploma, you will have or admission to the master programme or admission to a preparation programme or linking programme leading to the master programme.

  1. First do your enrolment application and contact the learning path counsellor of the programme asking permission to enrol.
  2. Then do your final enrolment during the enrolment period. 

Enrol for a specific teacher training, postgraduate programme or permanent training programme

Diplomas of the French or German Community of Belgium are not included in the standard list of admission requirements. This means that you will have to ask the faculty for permission before enrolment.

Specific teacher training programmes (SLO) are instructed in Dutch.

Postgraduate programmes and permanent training programmes are instructed in Dutch or English.

You will have to fulfil the language requirements.

Enrol for a predoctoral training programme, doctoral training programme or doctorate

The general admission requirement for enrolment for a doctorate (PhD) is a master diploma or equivalent of a recognized Belgian higher education institution.

Doctoral training programmes are instructed in English. You will have to fulfil the language requirements.
