Ann-Sophie Van Baeveghem
Ann-Sophie Van Baeveghem is a teaching assistant and PhD student at the Ghent Institute for International and European Studies (GIES) of Ghent University. She holds an MSc in EU-studies from Ghent University (2022) and an MSc in Empires, Colonialism and Globalisation from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2023). Her research focuses on the hitherto dominant perception of the EEC/EU as a non-colonial construct and its implications for current EU-Africa relations. By using critical and decolonial lenses, her research seeks to contribute to the decentralisation and decolonisation perspective of EU foreign policy.
