Invitation
You will receive the official invitation for the graduation ceremony during the second half of August.
Registration
- Registration is mandatory and can be done through this link: https://event.ugent.be/registration/EAproclamaties2024
- You will only be admitted to your own graduation ceremony.
- Deadline to register is Sunday, September 22, 2024.
Practical information
- Please arrive on time at the reception desk (entrance on the side of the rectorate), together with your guests (maximum 3 persons per student). This is possible from 1 hour before the start of your session and at the latest 15 minutes before the start of your session. At the reception desk, all graduates will be assigned a seat (seat number).
- After you are registered, go to the desk to pick up your graduation gown and cap. We ask that you give your ID as a deposit. You will get your ID back after the ceremony, upon return of the gown. You may keep the cap as a memento.
- The graduation ceremony starts on time!
- All graduates are seated in their assigned seats. It is important to respect this, otherwise the wrong student will be on camera during the live stream.
- Graduates who arrive late will not be able to sit with the other graduates and will have to sit at the back of the auditorium; unfortunately, they will not be featured during the live stream.
- By registering for the graduation ceremony, you give permission for the live stream and photo shoot and agree to the publication of the recordings and photos afterwards on the faculty website.
- Information on parking options can be found on the website of the City of Ghent: https://stad.gent/nl/mobiliteit-openbare-werken/parkeren
- We provide a live stream for those watching at home. The link will be posted on this webpage shortly before the start of the graduation ceremony.
Diploma
You can collect your diploma after your graduation ceremony, during the reception.
If you are unable to attend yourself and want someone else to collect your diploma, you must give that person a power of attorney: https://www.ugent.be/ea/nl/faculteit/studentenadministratie/attest-creditbewijs-en-diploma/attesten.htm#Diplomaendiplomasupplement.
Membership Alumni Association AIG
AIG-Engage, the association for young engineers, graduated from our faculty, kindly invites you to become a member. Engage offers young engineers a varied range of activities such as sports, interesting lectures, culture and parties. All this is possible because Engage acts as an umbrella organization: it bundles its own activities, AIG events and activities of all student associations associated with our faculty (e.g. VTK, Hermes, CenEka, MaChT, PKarus, Poutrix and BEAM) in one well-organized package. This way you can keep in touch with your classmates. Moreover, via Engage you are also a member of Alumni UGent, so you can continue to enjoy the student restaurants and the GUSB sport facilities at a reduced rate, and you will receive the UGent magazine delivered to your home. More information and registration via this link.
