A lecture series by Em Prof Dr. Ludo Peferoen.

Philosophy is about ideas and arguments. Yet many philosophers, trying to make their argument more convincing, have appealed to an image, and at times so well that the argument has been named after it, such as Plato's Cave or Zeno’s Achilles and the Tortoise. These lectures will consider a variety of such images, plus some taken from literature, to help us explore central philosophical themes: the nature of reality, the extent of our knowledge of it, the relation of mind to matter, the issues of personal identity and free will, the nature of ethics, the question of the good society and its government, …

Lectures are in English and will take place on Mondays 19:00-20:00, from February 19 to May 13, except for April 1 & 8. You are welcome also, and perhaps especially, if you have little or no previous experience with philosophy.
