Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action ETN - Health CASCADE

Introduction

healthcascade.pngHealth CASCADE is a consortium of high-profile universities, research institutions and companies. A coordinated effort by 7 beneficiaries and 14 partner organisations from 8 European countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden) secures a pan-European multidisciplinary approach in multi-environment (universities, research centres, SMEs, large civil organisations and companies) and multi-sectoral (education, industry, health care) contexts. Europe needs this training network!

Health CASCADE’s multidisciplinary international expert team will work together with young researchers to develop new evidence based guiding principles, methodology, novel tools and new technologies to make co-creation an effective tool to fight complex public health problems.

Project description

Health CASCADE is a Marie Skłodowska Curie Innovative Training Networks project funded by the European Union (H2020 MSCA ITN) (Project number 956501).

The aim of Health CASCADE is to foster the next generation of highly-trained research leaders to develop evidence based guiding principles, novel tools and new technologies to make co-creation an effective tool to fight complex public health problems through a European Joint Doctoral Programme.

Global health challenges confront us all as individuals and communities – from obesity to pandemics, cancer to dementia – magnified by climate change and increasing inequality in health care provision. These challenges are complex problems arising from multiple interconnected factors, resistant to public health programmes. We need new ideas and new approaches such as co-creation. By bringing together citizens, academics, businesses, and civil organisations, can we co-create effective solutions to these complex problems?

Fifteen Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) will be trained and will develop his/her research skills together with a transdisciplinary supervisory team involving academia and enterprise.

Objectives

These are the objectives of Health CASCADE

  • Train the next generation of public health researchers
  • Develop evidence based co-creation
  • Develop enabling technology for co-creation
  • Test and demonstrate with the co-creation of effective interventions in different sectors (health care, education, community and workplaces)
  • Develop cascade training for evidence based co-creation
