Vittorio Rocco Amendolara holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Bologna (2022, 2025), where he specialized in Human Movement Analysis.

His Master's thesis focused on developing a novel control system for upper limb prostheses designed for Para-Poomsae, a discipline within Para Taekwondo. This research led to the creation of a prototype demonstrator to assess the system's feasibility, with the long-term goal of introducing active prostheses into future Paralympic competitions.

In 2026, he began his PhD at Ghent University under the supervision of Prof. Lieva Van Langenhove (Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering), Prof. Dirk Cambier (Department of Rehabilitation Sciences) and Prof. Bastiaan Baccarne where his research focuses on the ergonomics of protective garments. His work aims to improve the design and comfort of these garments by analysing the movement performance of the wearer.
