This talk introduces the concept of eugenification and uses it to explore race and racialization.

While eugenics as a social movement is past, eugenification as a process that involves a certain way of thinking of sorts of people is very much present.

Robert A. Wilson is professor of philosophy at the University of Western Australia in Perth, Australia, and the founder of the not-for-profit Philosophical Engagement in Public Life (PEiPL.net).

His latest books are The Eugenic Mind Project (2018) and Kin Matters: Relational Beings in the Fragile Sciences (2026).

This public lecture will be based on a chapter from Creating Others: Eugenics and the Social World, a forthcoming book by Prof Robert A. Wilson.
