Clinical trials of naloxone and overdose: balancing the need for opioid antagonism and avoiding the triggering of acute withdrawal in patients.

Dr. Arne Skulberg, MD, PhD, is an anesthesiologist working in prehospital critical care at Oslo University Hospital in Norway. He has 10 years of experience in clinical research on naloxone, particularly intranasal administration.

His current interests include balancing the need for opioid antagonism with avoiding the triggering of acute withdrawal in overdose patients, both in drug development and in guidelines within the field.
