A public lecture by Dr. Emma Norris on the potential of ontologies in behavioural sciences - introducing ontologies and how they can be applied.

Dr Emma Norris will give a public lecture on the potential of ontologies in advancing behavioral sciences. The development and application of ontologies has been identified as a high priority in a consensus report of the National Academy of Sciences.

The aims of this lecture will be to

  • Introduce the audience to ontologies & the opportunities they provide for behavioural sciences
  • Present the Behaviour Change Intervention Ontology and the Behaviour and Social Sciences Ontology Foundry as early adaptors of ontologies in the behavioural sciences
  • Present a variety of application possibilities of ontologies within behavioural sciences
  • Introduce resources that help researchers further familiarize themselves in ontologies and use them in their research

There will be opportunity for 1-to-1 discussion with dr Emma Norris afterwards.
