Registration as non-Belgian student in Ghent
This information concerns students
- who have recently arrived in Belgium;
- are residing here for more than 3 months.
If you meet the two conditions above, you need to register with the city of Ghent and apply for a student residence permit (if you get an error, refresh the webpage).
Please note that this is a legal requirement.

What do you need?
Check-in first at Housing Office before you take further action. Afterwards, collect all documents:
- housing contract
- proof of registration
- health insurance
- ...
Before check-out
Please notify the city of Ghent when you are returning home.
