In this talk, Prof Francesca Raffi will examine how generative and conversational AI are transforming language learning and translation.
We are pleased to invite you to a plenary talk by Prof. Francesca Raffi, Associate Professor of English Language and Translation at the University of Macerata and Honorary Fellow at the University of Liverpool.
Her research explores accessibility, user experience, and AI-mediated language learning and translation, with a particular focus on learner agency, competence development, inclusion and pedagogical design.
She has led and contributed to several international projects on AI and accessibility, including the UNITE project on conversational AI for language learning. In this talk, Prof Francesca Raffi will examine how generative and conversational AI are transforming language learning and translation.
Drawing on recent research, she will discuss the evolving relationship between human agency and AI, and how educators can foster critical, responsible and inclusive participation in AI-mediated learning environments.
