A former Nature Methods editor and a chromatography expert discuss scientific publishing, peer review, and biopharma analytics.
This session brings together dr. Natalie de Souza (ETH Zürich), former Editor-in-Chief of Nature Methods, and Prof dr. Koen Sandra, CEO of the Research Institute for Chromatography (RIC) and visiting professor at Ghent University.
Dr. de Souza will share insights into scientific publishing, peer review, editorial decision-making and the evolving role of journals in research. Prof Sandra will discuss transformative analytical strategies, including chromatography and mass spectrometry, for the development and characterization of protein- and nucleic acid-based medicines.
The session features two talks of 30-40 minutes each, followed by an extended Q&A, giving participants the chance to engage directly with the speakers on scientific publishing, analytical innovation, translational science and career paths beyond the traditional research bench.
