During this event, we will explore origins of global solidarity in terms of the Bandung conference (1955). How the summit came about, what its long-term effects have been, and how this political project can be credibly revitalized today.

In a world where inequality, occupation, and exploitation transcend borders, the need for global solidarity among movements for liberation and emancipation has never been more urgent. This raises a pressing question: what role do university researchers play in the broader global movement for the decolonization of politics, economics, and philosophy?

This is an invitation to critical reflection and dialogue on the role of academia in global processes of resistance and solidarity. We will be joined by Vijay Prashad, a historian and political commentator with extensive knowledge of global movements throughout history.
