This form describes the state of your living unit when you check into the Halls of Residence of Ghent University. By law, the tenant needs to verify the state of the room upon arrival.

Please fill out this form ASAP! In case you notice scratches, stains, defects, questionable stability or if something is missing in the living unit, please mention it, as detailed as possible, in the corresponding section.

This inventory form will be compared with the state of the living unit at the end of your stay.
Any discrepancies will be charged in an additional invoice (see Inventory & Damage Price List).

How to check your Room Plus at Site Kantienberg?

Entrance of the housing unit

1. Check the door of your living unit.
   • Does it lock properly?
   • Is the handle sturdy?
   • Are the evacuation instructions and emergency office sticker “88” there?
2. Check your refrigerator.
   • Plug it in, does the light go on?
   • Are the shelves still present?
3. Check the shelf above the refrigerator.
   • Is it sturdy enough?
4. Test the light switches. There is one light switch for the entrance of your unit, and one for the main area of your unit.

Bathroom

1. Check the door of the bathroom.
   • Is the handle sturdy?
   • Does the door close properly?
   • Does the door drag across the floor?
2. Check the lights and electricity.
   • Do the lights work?
   • Do the sockets work?
3. Check the ventilation above the toilet.
   • Does it flip on when you enter the bathroom?
   • Is it free of any dust?
4. Check the washbasin.
   • Does it work?
   • Is the sink plug still present?
   • Is the mirror not broken?
   • Is the shelf under the mirror sturdy enough?
5. Check the shower.
   • Does it work?
   • Is the shower head still present?
   • Are the handles sturdy enough?
   • Do the shower doors close properly?
   • Is the filter in the drain still present?
6. Check the toilet.
   • Does it flush?
   • Is the toilet seat still present?
   • Is the toilet brush still present?
   • Is the toilet paper holder sturdy enough?
   • Is the bathrobe hook sturdy enough?

Main area

1. Check the bed.
   • Are there any wooden slats missing?
   • Are there any slats missing?
   • Is there any damage to the mattress/mattress cover?
   • Is there any damage to the bedpost?
   • Are the bed legs sturdy enough?
2. Check the sheets. There should be a pillow, pillow cover, bed sheets & a blanket.
3. Check the light switches near the bed. Do they both still work?
4. Check the desk.
   • Is there any damage to the desk?
   • Is there any damage to the desk drawer?
   • Is there any damage to the chair?
   • Are the bookshelves above the bed sturdy enough?
   • Is there any damage to the dustbin?
5. Check the window.
   • Does it still open and close properly?
   • Is there any damage the glass or frame?
   • Is there any damage to the curtains?
   • Do the curtain rails work properly?
6. Check the central heating (beneath the desk).
   • Is there any damage to the radiator?
   • Does the knob still work?
7. Check the wardrobe.
   • Do the doors still open?
   • Are any shelves missing?
   • Is there any damage to the wardrobe?

General infrastructure

1. Check the WELCOME QR-CODE. Is it still present? Does the link still work?
2. Check the sockets across the room. Are they still working?
3. Check the floors of your room. Are there any damages/scratches on the floor? Are there any paint stains?
4. Check the walls of your room. Are there any stains? Are there any plastic hooks, mirrors, … that do not belong in the room?
5. Check the ceiling of your room. Are there any noticeable stains? Gum, stickers, … should not be here!
6. Check the internet router, without touching any of the cables. Is the router still present? Is it plugged in?
