Exchange allowance
The exchange allowance provides financial support to financially vulnerable students who are going on an internship and/or exchange abroad.
Every student should have the opportunity to choose a foreign internship and/or exchange during their studies.
The financial situation should not be an obstacle. An exchange allowance can help to cover the costs.
Submit application
- After approval to go on an internship or exchange abroad.
- Between 01/07/2025 and 01/06/2026.
- You can submit your application via the Social Services student portal.
- You can expect a processing time of one month for your file.

Additional support
Students who cover their own living expenses by working as students can receive additional support.
This is in addition to the standard amounts of the exchange allowance.
This partly compensates for the loss of the student job during the period abroad.
This assessment is always carried out on the basis of an individual file and interview.
