Sustainights in the second semester

Wednessday 14/02 - Climate Text (Dutch)

Green Office and Auw La bring their worlds together for the eco-literary event Climate Text. For an evening, poets and other performers draw attention to the climate issues of our time, hopes, doom and what we can do politically.

  • In collaboration with Auw La

Monday 4/03 - Sense of belonging and participatory decision-making at university (English)

We start the evening with a panel discussion. Among other things, we discuss (how to increase the) involvement of students in the university, how to ensure that students and staff are heard in decision-making at Ghent University, how to form a group identity that welcomes individual identities, ...

After the break, the panel discussion speakers will split up to facilitate smaller circle discussions around 'sense of belonging'. You can choose in advance which speaker you want to go into more depth with. There will be room for questions and personal experiences from all attendees.
We will close the event with a reception to exchange reflections, emotions, insights, etc.

  • 19:00-10:00 @Aud E, T2 (Campus UFO), Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 41
  • Language: The panel talk will be in English. For the smaller circles, you can choose between a talk in English or Dutch.

The Eco Market is also the ideal place to enrich your wardrobe with a second-hand bargain at the Vinted on Campus to give your own clothes a new home.

Thursday 28/03 - Climate change, eco-anxiety and hope through engagement (English)

Explore the reality of climate change with Prof Jean-Pascal van Ypersele, former vice-president of the IPCC, and Martine Capron, therapist doing pioneering work on eco-emotions.
