Availability in the Homes
Ghent University has over 2,400 living units available for the entire university community. Only if you have an affiliation with Ghent University, a living unit can be assigned.
There are living units for the following enrollment types: degree-seeking students, exchange students, Ph.D. students, staff, and visitors. Depending on your enrollment type, you can apply for a selected range of living units, regardless of your nationality or other specifications.
In case you were informed that your application has been added to the waiting list, and in case a living unit becomes available due to a cancellation, it will automatically be assigned to the next person on our waiting list.
Only when living units become available due to last-minute changes or cancellations, and in case there is no waiting list for this enrolment type, the units can be offered to an applicant of another type of enrolment.

Students, enrolled for 27 ECTS points or more via diploma contract at Ghent University (regular UGent-enrolled students (mostly locals))

Students, enrolled for Degree-courses (DEGREE-students)
- Selected range: living units available for the second semester
- Applications on waiting list: 0 for the current academic semester

PhD-students or exchange PhD-students
- Selected range: living units for an extended period (up to six months) available from June in Ghent
- Applications on waiting list: 14
- Offer of available units from other enrolment types: several living units are available for smaller periods due to cancellations or modifications of the intended resident.
