Ghent University's Regional Platforms warmly invite you to a special anniversary symposium.
This event marks several important milestones: the 20th anniversary of the Africa Platform and the East Asia Platform, the 10th anniversary of the CESAM Platform, ASEAN & South Asia Platform, and Eureast Platform, and the 5th anniversary of the North America Platform.
To celebrate these achievements, we are delighted to welcome our partners, colleagues, alumni, and friends from across the globe.
At the same time, the symposium offers an opportunity to reflect on a pressing question for higher education today: how can international academic collaboration thrive in an increasingly fragmented world?
To launch this discussion, we are honoured to welcome Alexander De Croo, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and former Prime Minister of Belgium, for a keynote address. His presentation will be followed by a panel discussion bringing together experts from academia and beyond, and will conclude with a networking reception.
Join us in celebrating two decades of international engagement while exploring the future of global academic cooperation and the challenges ahead. We look forward to welcoming you on 4 January 2027.
