This event brings together (clinical) experts focusing on the importance of physical activity in the management of people living with Cystic Fibrosis.

Despite major therapeutic advances, youth with CF, similar to youth in the general population, remain insufficiently physically active, and emerging evidence suggests that CFTR modulators do not directly increase PA levels.

Given the well-established benefits of PA for physical health, functional capacity, and long-term outcomes, there is an urgent need to integrate effective PA promotion within contemporary CF care.

By bringing together experts in CF care, pulmonary rehabilitation, and exercise physiology, the symposium highlights PA as a multidimensional and clinically relevant behaviour in a multisystem disease, with clear societal impact through improved patient outcomes and quality of life.
