EV Policy Council: Evidence on electric vehicle adoption, discontinuance and charging stands, and how it meets regulation.

Prof Gil Tal is the Director of the Electric Vehicle Research Center at the University of California, Davis. He will open the Clean Mobility Conference (CME 2026) week with an event open to doctoral candidates.

He sets out where the evidence on electric vehicle adoption, discontinuance and charging behaviour now stands, then works through how behavioural research is built so that it holds up under regulatory scrutiny, drawing on his testimony to the California Legislature and his work with the California Air Resources Board. He closes on the questions the conference week will argue over.

Open to doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers at Ghent University and their supervisors, and to doctoral candidates from the University of Antwerp, KU Leuven, Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Hasselt University.

Free of charge, and no conference registration is needed. Reserve a place with Alessandro.LaDelfa@ugent.be.

Funded by the Ghent University Doctoral School.
