State-of-the-art insights by Prof Colleen Le Prell
Prof Colleen Le Prell (University of Texas at Dallas) will give a lecture on the development of inner ear medications for threshold and supra-threshold indications, titled “Investigational Medicines for Hearing Loss Prevention and Restoration.”
Her talk will provide a state-of-the-art overview of current research, clinical guidance, translational challenges, and future directions in otoprotective treatment strategies.
Prof Le Prell is a leading researcher in hearing loss prevention. Her work focuses on identifying cell death pathways activated by noise exposure, evaluating therapeutic agents that prevent auditory damage, and detecting auditory dysfunction before hair cell loss occurs. She has served as president of the National Hearing Conservation Association, contributed to several professional task forces, and edited multiple volumes of the Springer Handbook of Auditory Research.
