Symposium in which Dr. Rui Faria brings his expertise on industrial implementation of lithium electrolysis processes
Lithium, a critical raw material for lithium-ion batteries, is classified as such by the EU. To reduce geopolitical dependencies on external parties, the EU is supporting the development of a European lithium supply chain.
Lithium is a key player in this value chain, converting intermediate lithium salts into battery precursors via an electrolytic process that is more sustainable than traditional carbonation methods.
This Jury Activity Proposal features leading expert Dr. Faria, who is at the forefront of the development and implementation of this technology. She will explore cutting-edge research and the industrial scaling of LiCl chlor-alkali electrolysis.
This event promises to bridge disciplines, inspire collaboration, and uncover the complexities involved in building a European lithium supply chain.
