Lecture recordings @FBW

FBW guidelines regarding on-campus teaching and lecture recordings

Bachelor

  • No live stream (synchronous following from home) and emphasis on on-campus teaching;
  • Provide suitable course materials (with a clear structure and transparent communication regarding content and expectations);
  • Do you make lecture recordings and want to make them available? That is allowed; communicate this to your program committee. Do you want to make the recordings available via Panopto? Read here how to do this: 'postponed publication'.
Master
  • You decide whether to offer live streaming and/or class recordings. Read more here about the context and five criteria before making your decision. Again, transparent communication (via UFORA, in the 1st lesson) to students is essential.
  • 'Recycling' lesson recordings are not recommended. This can only be done if the content is still current. In this case, be sure to provide sufficient contact moments of support (introduction, explanation, question moments, etc.).
  • Lecture recordings ≠ Blend@UGent
Exceptions for Bachelor & Master

Class recordings may exceptionally be used as alternative study material partly at the expense of on-campus teaching for special statutes such as work students, prolonged absences due to illness, and top sports statutes). This is done only at the explicit request of the individual student.
