Ghent University is recruiting 9 professors with a track record of research excellence

In January 2024 Ghent University’s Executive Board approved the launch of 8 positions of professor, funded by the Special Research Fund. These professorships are granted the privilege of focusing primarily on research, with a limited teaching load, and are allocated to various faculties. The aim of the positions is to strengthen the research potential (in depth or in the breadth) of the faculties.

The professors, whose assignment is primarily research must attest to scientific excellence based on criteria of scientific quality, which is apparent, among other things, from publications in journals or books with international visibility and from the proposed scientific research in the research plan.

The vacancies for these professorships are advertised at the UGent-vacancy site, the Euraxess and Academic Positions sites, … and through various discipline-related sites.
