Geschiedenis van de faculteit Wetenschappen (Alumnidag 2023)
Aan de hand van de tijdlijn visualiseren we de geschiedenis van de faculteit Wetenschappen, van haar ontstaan in 1817 tot heden en zelfs met een blik op de nabije toekomst.
Lezingen "Vrienden van de Wetenschappen"
De lezingen van de Vrienden van de Wetenschappen gaan in het academiejaar 2024-2025 door op de eerste dinsdag van de maanden november – juni (met uitzondering van januari en maart) op de Campus Sterre, gebouw S2 – ingangsdeur kant gebouw S3.
De lezing start om 19:00 u. en wordt afgesloten met een kleine receptie. Toegang is gratis, maar inschrijven verplicht.

ESB 2026 brings together biomaterials researchers, clinicians, and industry leaders in Antwerp to share innovations in the field of biomaterials.
The 35th Annual Conference of the European Society for Biomaterials brings together leading researchers, clinicians, engineers, innovators, and industry professionals from around the world to explore the latest advances in biomaterials and regenerative medicine.
The scientific program covers a wide range of topics, including tissue engineering, drug delivery systems, medical devices, biofabrication, nanomedicine, and translational research.
Through keynote lectures, symposia, workshops, oral presentations, and poster sessions, participants will exchange knowledge, present groundbreaking discoveries, and discuss emerging challenges and opportunities in healthcare innovation.
ESB 2026 aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration between academia, healthcare providers, and industry, accelerating the development of next-generation biomaterials and therapies that improve patient outcomes and global healthcare.

Ensembles: Conserving Interconnected Artworks, Artefacts and Collections
A significant proportion of the world’s cultural heritage comprises interconnected works or collections that gain increased value and significance when considered as a whole. These groupings, often referred to as ensembles, can be found in fine art, ethnographic or world collections, architectural complexes, archaeological sites, and many other forms of artistic and historical expression.
The conservation of cultural heritage ensembles needs to consider not only the individual needs of each component, but also the relationship between multiple pieces and their historical significance. Approaching heritage ensembles in this holistic manner, important insights are gained on the depth of cultural narratives, the evolution of artistic traditions, and the broader historical and social connections that these works represent.
